UPLAND
San Antonio Heights
This special and unique project holds a place of honor in our hearts. Our client's goal was to respect the original 1970’s features of the home, while infusing their own style and making the house more suitable for their current lifestyle. We converted the Primary Suite into a personal retreat inspired by our clients’ travels and their passion for hospitality-forward design. We kept the original redwood ceilings and walls and brought in additional texture with limewash, natural stone, and warm wood finishes. In the primary bath, we removed a mauve jacuzzi tub and a pair of oversized fluorescent lit vanities to make room for the zen-like space. We incorporated a new wall-to-wall window above the generous vanity to take advantage of views, while floating mirrors and alabaster sconces provide practicality and ambiance.
Outside, we updated the exterior with a dark gray paint with green undertones to set off the lush landscape, added simple bronze lighting with a modern edge, and furnished the upper deck with lounge chairs and large daybeds ideal for relaxing and taking in the views.
A major labor of love, the project is still in progress and will be for a few years as we work to achieve our clients’ goals and work within the original framework of the home.
